Meet Andrew Gelwicks, the Celebrity Fashion Stylist who is behind the looks of Schitt’s Creek’s very own, Moira Rose…we mean, Catherine O’Hara, and everyone’s favourite Real House Wife, Lisa Rinna. Having worked at the likes of Teen Vogue, GQ, and Michael Kors, Andrew knows exactly what’s ‘of the moment’ in fashion. His debut book, The Queer Advantage, will hit shelves Fall 2020. In the meantime, we’ll have to content ourselves with oogling over his star studded Instagram page. We want to be a #GelwicksGirl

How do you start your day off?
I start my day off by clicking my snooze button far too many times. Then I will do a quick scan of my e-mails and Instagram. After I’ll go to the gym before heading into the office.
What’s going on in the background when you are getting ready?
I am obsessed with ‘The View,’ so I will always watch the prior day’s episode while I’m getting ready for the day.
You never leave home without…
Cell phone, a book and Tums.
What are your closet essentials?
Basic Hanes t-shirts in every colour, oversized button-down shirts and Converse.
What is your biggest fashion regret?
I used to wear Merrell slip-ons every day growing up.
You always splurge on, and you always save on…
I will always splurge if I come across a really unique vintage piece, but definitely save on all of my basics.
What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?
I had this pair of brown suede shoes that I loved! I definitely miss those.
What inspires your style most?
Living in New York, I’m surrounded by so many artistic and creative people, that I’m constantly inspired by so many people that I see – on the subway, walking down the street, standing in line at Starbucks. It’s the perfect city to have a constant stream of inspiration.

Invest in tailoring! The fit is so important.
