Face Mask Make-Up Looks

Face Mask Make-Up Looks

Written by Marisa Anhaltzer

The world is opening up, and with it, we have a new set of rules that are now a new norm: Stay 6 feet apart from those you don’t live with, wash your hands frequently, and to help stop the spread, wear a face mask. As we reintegrate into society, adjusting our beauty routines to account for a mask covering the lower portion of our faces, has been a challenge. This is why we reached out to Marisa Anhaltzer, a trained make-up artist and sales manager at Créme Collective, for guidance. The LA-based beauty expert showed us how to re-create some of her favourite face mask make-up looks.

FACE MASK MAKE-UP

Step One: I first applied a pea sized amount of Heir Atelier Face Primer on my face with my fingers. I let it sit for 30 seconds.

Step Two: Then, I applied Rituel de Fille Ethereal Veil in Ceres concealer. I like to pat it under my eye area, and anywhere else I want to cover.

Step Three: Following that, I applied Ere Perez’s Rice Powder Blush & Bronzer with a bronzer brush into my hairline and around my face. I always frame my face with bronzer. I like to pretend I have a ski mask on, and apply my bronzer around the invisible ski mask.

Step Four: Moving on to my eyes, I applied Heir Atelier Eye Primer on my eyelid and patted it in with a finger.

Step Five: I then used Ritual de Fille’s Ash & Ember Eye soot, in Half Light. Once again, I applied this with a finger over my eye lid.

Step Six: I like to curl my lashes with Ere Perez’s eyelash curler twice; once before mascara and then again once my mascara has dried.

Step Seven: After my first eyelash curl, I used Ere Perez’s Avocado Waterproof mascara on my lashes.

Step Eight: For my brows, I used Hourglass’s Brow Pencil in Warm Brunette. I apply the pencil in light strokes along my natural brow shape.

Step Nine: To finish, I used Ritual de Fille’s Rare Light Luminizer in Solaris. I apply highlighter wherever the natural light hits my face, around my eye in a half-moon, in the tear duct area (to brighten my eyes), and below the brow frame.

Step One: I start using the steps 1 to 4, from the first look.

Step Two: Then, once I have put on primer, concealer, bronzer and eye primer, I applied Rituel de Fille’s Celestial Eye Sphere eyeshadow in Ara with Bobbi Brown’s Cream Eyeshadow Brush, all over my eyelid and in my tear duct area.

Step Three: Once again, I curl my eyelashes twice, with a mascara application in between.

Step Four: For my brows, I used Hourglass’ brow pencil in Warm Brunette. I apply it in light strokes along my natural brow shape.

Step Five: To finish, I apply Rituel de Fille’s Rare Light Luminzer in Solaris, wherever the natural light hits my face, around my eye in a half-moon, in the tear duct area (to brighten my eyes), and below the brow frame.

Step One: To achieve this look, I once again start with steps 1 to 4, from the first look.

Step Two: Then, once I have put on primer, concealer, bronzer and eye primer, I applied Stila’s Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Turquoise, along my upper lash line.

Step Three: I then apply Rituel de Fille’s Celestial Eye Sphere eyeshadow, in Fornax, along the bottom lash line, and in the tear duct area, using Bobbi Brown’s Gel Liner brush.

Step Four: To finish off, I used steps 6 to 9 from the first look – mascara, eyelash curling, brows and highlighter.
