Bio

At The Strategy, we are absolutely enamoured with Tanice Elizabeth’s minimalist style, and moody Instagram aesthetic. As a lawyer-by-day, fashion inspiration by night, we can’t get enough of her less-is-more style. We also admire her co-creation of #ContentForBetter, which aims to be a space to ‘support and enable a collective voice of content creators and artists alike.’ As Tanice has inspired us, we want to know what inspires her.

Q&A

How do you start your day off?

I always start my day off with some tea and a scroll on my phone on the news and my social media accounts. Sometimes, I get up and go for a walk before I begin my work day, but that is weather depending these days, ha!

What’s going on in the background when you are getting ready?

Usually my husband is getting ready for work – he is usually the one who makes my tea :). We have two children, who on a normal day, would be having breakfast ahead of going to school, but at the moment, we’re homeschooling, so we let them have a lie-in before their day begins.

You never leave home without…

Earphones, my phone, hand sanitizer and a lip balm.

What are your closet essentials?

This is a tough one, but I’ll break it down to my top 10:

  1. A pair of sneakers that can be dressed up or down
  2. A sweat suit
  3. A pair of tailored trousers
  4. An oversized knit
  5. A white shirt
  6. An oversized blazer
  7. A pair of leggings
  8. A basic t-shirt
  9. A pair of black boots
  10. An oversized coat

What is your biggest fashion regret?

I actually don’t have any fashion regrets, as I am so particular over my purchases. I have a list of things and if it isn’t on the list, I won’t buy it. Even when I was younger, I had a part-time job, so I had to be careful on what I spent it on! Simple, if I’m not sure, I won’t buy!

You always splurge on, and you always save on…

I always splurge on accessories and save on mascara, as I hate using it!

What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?

My formal shoes! They were nude, strappy heels, and I gave them to charity when I went to university. Now when I think about it, I don’t have nude neutral strappy heels! So yeah…I hope someone else has them and are still loving them.

What inspires your style most?

Old photographs of my family, for sure. Everything comes back around, and so I love so many of my parents clothes. I think that my taste has totally taken their style and mixed it together.

You’re Number 1 style tip is…

Always dress comfortably for you. If you are comfortable, it will same; same if you are not. I swear by this!
