Learning Rabea Schif’s style story.
In her Instagram bio, Rabea Schif describes herself as a “Jack of all Trades”, and we love the description. Not only is she a presenter, model, and creative consultant, she is also a sartorial icon with a gorgeous aesthetic. From her home to her style, we can’t get enough of everything the German-based Rabea Schif touches. She’s had a career working with various fashion magazines, in talent management, art direction and of course, modelling and presenting (to name a few). If you’re not already a huge fan of hers, we’d like for you to meet Rabea Schif, and become instantly enamoured.
How do you start your day off?
I start my day with a matcha latte with coconut and almost milk, and then head out for a long walk with my dog.
What’s going on in the background when you are getting ready?
I am actually a big fan of silence, but if I’m in the mood for some music I like to listen to my Spotify mix which ranges from Stevie Wonder to ABRA, from Bowie to Drake, Majid Jordan to James Blake – basically anything besides death metal or German Schlager music!
You never leave home without…
My dachshund Bailey and my wallet. I actually don’t mind leaving my phone at home occasionally – at least then I can concentrate on the present moment and not get distracted by my phone.
What are your closet essentials?
Blue jeans, white t-shirt, pair of loafers and leather jacket or blazer.
What is your biggest fashion regret?
Definitely plucking my eyebrows way too thin in the 90s.
You always splurge on, and you always save on…
I always splurge on good quality organic food and I always save on buying fast fashion.
What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?
I used to go to a lot of concerts when I was in a teenager in the 90s, like New Kids on the Block, Whitney Houston, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, MC Hammer and so many more, and I stupidly threw away all my merch t-shirts, which I bought then. I totally wish I could get those back!
What inspires your style most?
My mom has always been a huge style inspiration when I was a kid. Nowadays, I guess I get most inspiration from books, like Inside David Bowie or Italiana: Italy Through The Lens of Fashion 1071-2001. I also have a couple of IG accounts I follow like @luvalyssamiller, @estelllechemouny, @emlabowe, @frenchvibesclub @janebirkindaily, and I also like to get my inpspiration from series like Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo, Baby and The Get Down. Alternatively I find movies like Queen & Slim or Swimming Pool inspiring, or basically any movie with Jane Birkin or Brigitte Bardot!
You’re Number 1 style tip is…
Whatever you wear, wear it with confidence!
