With a slogan of “keep your mind dirty and the ocean clean,” we knew from the moment we saw Londre’s Instagram page, that we were fans.
The sustainability-focused, size-inclusive label aims to create high-quality garments that look flattering on all body types, while also having the lowest possible impact on the environment. Founded by BC-based Ainsley Rose and Hannah Todd, Londre seeks to contribute to the notion of ‘buy less, buy better”, while also offering inclusive sizing and silhouettes.
With a minimum of 6 recycled plastic bottles used in the creation of their swimsuits, so far Londre has removed over 250,000 plastic bottles from the beaches and streets. The brand works with an OEKO tex 100 certified textile manufacturer, and ensures small-batch production runs of products using low-waste and recyclable fabrics. Also, all water used in production is able to be reused. A key component in textile development. Not only are they removing harmful plastics from the environment, but Londre continually also creates give-back initiatives, including one created over the pandemic that sent products to over-worked nurses. As a female founded business, Londre also aims to raise awareness and funds for women’s health initiatives. Their partnerships with environmental initiatives has lead to the removal of 4,500 lbs of garbage off the BC coastline and planting a coral reef.
Counting the likes of Shanina Shaik, Camila Mendes and Nina Dobrev as part of their growing fanbase, Londre chooses to not photoshop their product images, and celebrates the beauty of body diversity.
Their upcoming Spring/Summer collection has been inspired by bright vibrant colours, as we slowly start to take back the world and explore once again. “This colour palette is meant to invoke the feeling of fun and lightness that we’ve all been lacking over the past few years.”
We love a brand that helps us look our best, while also helping the environment in the process.
