We’re always on the hunt for inspiration, but sometimes we run dry. On one particular occasion, we decided to visit the Kimpton Saint George Hotel for a staycation in our home town in search of some much needed inspo. It only took one night at the art-focused hotel that pays homage to the city it’s in.
The Location: The Kimpton Saint George, 280 Bloor St. W, Toronto
The Hotel: Nestled in Toronto’s infamous Yorkville neighbourhood, the Kimpton Saint George was named one of the Top Ten Hotels in Toronto for 2022 by BlogTo.
The Details:
We loved the little details that paid homage to our city of Toronto. From the legendary ‘white squirrel’ adorning the interior of each closet door to the blue jays painted in the mural in the lobby. Stepping into the hotel, you see touches of the city everywhere you look.
In each room, the closets come equipped with not only a luxurious bathrobe, but also with a rolled up yoga mat that made us feel like we were living our best selves. There’s a 24-hour fitness centre should in-room yoga not be your thing. Top it off, amenities are provided by Atelier Bloem, and should you have forgotten anything – from a lint roller to a humidifier, the hotel has got you covered.
If you plan to leave your room (it was hard to get us out), each evening wine can be had in the hotel’s ‘living room’ where you can enjoy a complimentary ‘wine hour’ while you mingle with other guests and enjoy original art by local artists. For daytime excursions, you can borrow a bike from the hotel, and if you have little ones with you, the hotel offers Micro Kickboard Scooters.
The Best Part:
Our favourite feature at the Kimpton Saint George was that of the Victoria Radford facial service. As huge fans of the brand, we were thrilled to learn that guests of the hotel can request a signature Victoria Radford facial service – including ones that come with the line’s infamous gold face masks. Talk about indulging in R&R! If you’re in town for an event, the Victoria Radford team can also be booked for hair and makeup services, or lash/brow touch-ups.
