Nicole Richie is one of our all time favourite sources for style inspiration. The ultimate bohemian with a simple elegance and a lot of edge, Nicole is constantly upping the style game while never losing her sense of personality. We all know how she came to be, so we’re going to skip over the tough fashion times, and go right into why Nicole’s style is worthy of admiration.
Nicole has always been a wild child, with her untamed hair and unconventional style. She was through and through your typical 2000’s California party girl. Short dresses were the norm, and the tighter the better. Though she has had some trips here and there, Nicole eventually evolved into the wonderful style we love today. She is one of those people who can wear just about anything and never look overdone. Whether it be a fluffy fur coat, a full length patterned maxi dress, or silver hair. There is nothing Nicole can do wrong.
With her House of Harlow 1960 designs, Nicole allows anyone a peek inside her brain when it comes to easy summer clothes and accessories. And if there’s one thing Nicole does best, it’s boho summer style. However, she’s not a one trick pony. Nicole knows her way around chic, sleek, and all done up just as well as her regular California cool. She stuns on the red carpets and has made herself into a Met Gala staple. Who else is going to find the perfect balance between pastel purple hair and a backless silver velvet dress?
As we mentioned before, though Nicole’s style has dramatically changed over the years, the core of her outgoing personality has stayed relatively the same. She is still the slightly crazy, outgoing, never censored Nicole that we grew to love. And this is the reason why she can do whatever she wants. She’s fun! Even though she clearly knows good fashion and the best style, she doesn’t take herself too seriously. She still fangirls over Britney Spears and gets herself into hilarious predicaments. Cue the “She’s just like us!” banner.
Candidly Nicole, the show that first started as a web series on AOL, premieres today on VH1, is testament to Nicole’s entertaining personality. We’re sure there will be antics galore, and style moments that shouldn’t be missed. Can’t wait!
