Happy National Underwear Day! In celebration of the day that gives a nod to our unmentionables, we’re recapping some of the lingerie lines brought to you by the rich and famous. It’s a place that many venture, but few figure out how to thrive in, so those that do deserve some mentioning. Hold on to your pants, David Beckham’s making an appearance.
Starting out with the obvious, Elle Macpherson is the mother of celeb underwear lines. Elle provides everything you need, from basics to things a little more risqué. You too can have the supermodel approved pushup for surprisingly average prices. Thanks, Elle! Another model who produces intimates for the masses is no other than Gisele herself. And who doesn’t want lingerie provided by a woman nicknamed “The Body”? And recently, Rosie Huntington-Whitely is joining the lingerie designing model crew with her work for Marks & Spencer.
A little more on the celebrity side of things,Penelope and Monica Cruz design lingerie collaboratively with Agent Provocateur. The two sisters have been working with the lingerie powerhouse for over three years, and have given us some equally brow-raising undies and advertisements. Giving the guys some credit, we can always rely on David Beckham to give us those commercials. Oh, how we love those commercials. And though we can’t exactly vouch for the products, we bet they’re great. Because David is great. We love David.
The latest addition to the multitude of celebrity lingerie lines is Princess of Pop, Ms. Britney Spears. The details are all hush hush for the time being, but the line is supposed to be “sexy, luxurious, and comfortable,” which we are sure they will be. We’re really only hoping that there is at least some version of the diamond ensemble from the Toxic music video. You know the one. The collection comes out in September, so until then we’ll just have to wait patiently to see what Britney’s all about.
Whether you buy your intimates from Wal-Mart, Victoria’s Secret, or Net-A-Porter, they are the closet things to your body day in and day out. They can shape you, lift you, fill you out, and work all kinds of witchcraft to get your goods looking however you please. National Underwear Day is a much needed thanks to our “somethings more comfortable,” which usually go unmentioned. You know what they say… If your bra and panties match, it’s gonna be a good day. So wear your favourite undies today. Show them some love.
