Great Escape

Cape Town, South Africa

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Praiano, Italy

Bali, Indonesia

Written by The Strategy

Sometimes we need a break from the (not so cold, as of late) cold weather that happens this time of year. It isn’t always practical to pack a bag and skip town for a few days, but day dreaming and planning a would-be getaway is always fun. Below you’ll find four locations we would love to jet to off at a moments notice.

A little dreaming never hurt anyone, right?

1. Cape Town, South Africa

Cape Town offers warm weather and beautiful sights, making it a solid option in our books. We might check in to the Cape Royale Hotel, which has an Equinox Spa that we would be all too happy to make use of. Once we venture out of the hotel, there are nearby winery tours to check out, the V&A Waterfront to do some shopping and dining, the Cape Town Diamond Museum, and so much more. Don’t forget about the beaches.

2. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio has it all. Beach parties, great food, and better weather. Ipanema beach is must-see, song not mandatory but it is recommended. A stay at the Fasano Rio Hotel sounds like a good plan if you like rooftop pools with a view. We hear theres a restaurant in Copacabana called The Bakers that has fantastic desserts, so after we hit the beach we’ll wander over there to see for ourselves.

3. Praiano, Italy

Instead of going on a road trip through the entire Amalfi Coast, we’ll opt to stay in one of the many cities so we can lounge around without having to sit in a car. Hotel Margherita is a colourful little family-run hotel that is in the perfect location for both beach and city lovers. They also boast a tanning deck and cooking classes. The local-approved Bar del Sole is highly recommended for late night drinks.

4. Bali, Indonesia

Much talked-about, yes. Still a good place to go? Of course. Rest and relaxation is pouring from every aspect of Bali. The hotel: One Eleven Bali in Seminyak. Private villa, a personal chef that prepares breakfast, a secluded swimming pool all to yourself, yoga sessions…you can ask for more, but you’ll be so comfortable you won’t want to. Yes, please.

See you in our dreams, winter vacation.
