Holiday Reads

Kate Morton - The Lake House

Paula Hawkins - The Girl on The Train

Jane Austen - Emma

Written by The Strategy

Whether your holidays are anything like mine, (a dinner here, a lunch there, and relatives everywhere!) or  a relaxed break from the daily grind, there is nothing like sneaking away for a half hour or so to curl up by the fire and catch up on some reading. There is a reason why there are countless quotes on Pinterest about the allure of a good book, warm blanket and hot cup of cocoa. I’ve got three books on my nightstand that I cannot wait to get through.

The first is Kate Morton’s “The Lake House“. I’ve devoured every book Kate Morton has read, and this book is just as intriguing as all others.  I generally keep Morton’s books for when I know I will have a lot of time, because I know I will not be putting them down.

Next is “The Girl on The Train” by Paula Hawkins. It’s another read that is not so Christmas cheer, and more murder and intrigue. Perfect for reading on…well…the train.

Lastly, “Emma” by Jane Austen is a classic that I keep returning to. Witty, charming and endlessly entertaining, the book is a must read for every girl who has thought they were a matchmaker at one point or another. It’s not a long read, and therefore ideal for the days when you barely have a moment to yourself.

Happy Holidays!
