Given the fact that we’re so used to wearing masks these days, our focus when it comes to makeup application has been on our eyes. Of course, we still pay attention to our lips with extra TLC and have a lipstick on hand should the masks come off, but with the lower half of our faces covered, we’ve been more excited to experiment with our eyes.

Just as if reading our minds, Beautycounter launched their Lid Glow Cream Shadow, a clean makeup product that delivers buildable colour. The cream shadow is the first of its kind in Beautycounter’s permanent makeup lineup.

The cream shadows are infused with ingredients that care for the skin around the eyes and eyelids. Cucumber and chamomile extract sooth and hydrate, coconut oil and shea butter nourish and moisturize, and a botanical polymer blend defends against the signs of aging from environmental stressors. Each shade, of which there are 10, is formulated with responsibly sourced pearlescent micas that give a soft-focus effect that catches the light. The formula feels weightless and doesn’t crease.

Each Lid Glow Cream Shadow can take you from a more natural look to a heavier one. One-swipe of the product illuminates the eyes, but each shade can be built upon for a bolder look. With the ‘doe-foot’ applicator, you don’t need extra tools or brushes for application. At most, you can use your fingers to blend the shadows. The pointed tip of the applicator is designed to also act as a lining tool – meaning you can use the cream shadows as eyeshadow, but also line your lids. We love the extra bang for your buck.
