What Inspired Team TS This Week
Inspiration is all around us. It can come from art, coffee table books, people we see on the streets, travel, music – really, anywhere. When the pandemic hit and life went into lockdown, we struggled to find inspiration within the four walls of our work from home set-ups. After over a year of searching, we’ve come to realize that inspiration can come from even the smallest of details.
As The Strategy hopes to share the inpsiriaton behind the style of our favourite fashion insiders and muses, we’ve decided to share with you the little details in life that have been inspiring us. Here is what inspired us this week.
We love our IRO strappy heels, almost as much as we love our Veja sneakers, but right now, we love our mules. The perfect seasonal transition shoe, mules are all we want to be wearing. Originally we were inspired by images of Lauren Santo Domingo clad in a white hoodie, skinny jeans and black mules that were floating around the internet 2 years ago. Come end-of-summer/early-fall 2021, we’re opting to pair our mules with wider fitting denim, but still going for a more casual look on top.
We don’t know about you (or TS Alum/Bravo Historian Brian Moylan), but this season on RHOBH, Garcelle Beauvais is our favourite ‘housewife’. She’s honest, straight forward, and definitely has us considering fading our hair to ice blue. Love. The. Look. But, as we have travel plans coming up (more on that later), we’re looking back at her 90s airport style. The jeans. The cardigan. The duffel. Oh my! Such a look to unpack and definitely one we’d love to recreate for our next venture abroad.
The end of August means September issues have hit newsstands. Selena Gomez fronts Elle, Anok Yai, Ariel Nicholson, Bella Hadid, Lola Leon, Sherry Shi, Yumi Nu, Kaia Gerber, and Precious Lee cover Vogue, and most importantly, Beyoncé covers Harper’s Bazaar. While the thickness of the magazines isn’t quite the same as yester-years, we still can’t wait to flip through the pages.
One of our favourite ways to start the morning is by doing a scroll through our Instagram Feed. One of our favourites: Bettina Looney. The personal shopper and stylist has a gorgeous colourful feed with stories that completely induces our wanderlust.
Embrace the power of a coffee table book or magazines as decor. Our apartments and homes are scattered with our favourite tomes and issues that need to be displayed. Not only do we get to see our favourite covers and collections on display everyday, they also are a cost-effective and easy way to fill up empty spaces in your home.
